The Salvation Army’s mission shines brightest at Christmas, and this year, the need is greater than ever.

This year has been difficult for hundreds of thousands of families across the country. For those struggling to pay rent or put food on the table after losing their job, Christmas can seem just out of reach. You can help The Salvation Army Rescue Christmas campaign, spreading hope, love and joy to the less fortunate members of society. When families come together to count their blessings, they wish each other good news and experience the uncontrolled happiness of children. From physical needs like food, utilities, and gift assistance, to emotional experiences including holiday events and traditions, to spiritual guidance that brings healing and hope; The Salvation Army works to help the whole person through gifts that serve the body,

red pots

These iconic red pots mark the start of the holiday season. Donations collected in these pots support services in your community. The bell ringers are seasonal employees and volunteers. Learn more about ringing the bell  or sign up now to ring . A secure contactless donation is available with Kettle Pay (link); but the pandemic means there are fewer red pots and fewer shoppers out and about. From September 14 through January 31, you can help Rescue Christmas by becoming a fundraiser or donating through our online Red Pot .

Angel Tree

When you are struggling financially to take care of your family, holiday gifts are often not feasible. The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program allows donors to purchase gifts and clothing for families in need, making their holidays brighter. Be an angel for a family in need this Christmas .

Collection of coats and winter clothes

We collect new or gently used winter coats and clothing for families in need. If your group is interested in hosting a winter clothing and coat drive, please contact: uscmet.holidaydonate@usc.salvationarmy.org .

Holiday Foods

The Salvation Army offers Thanksgiving and Christmas meals for families who cannot provide for themselves a special meal. Several community centers  will have grab-and-go meals this year to safely bring the holiday spirit.
