Work vehicles for working families

Working Cars for Working Families is a program run by the National Consumer Law Center that aims to ensure that working families can “obtain, retain, and operate a reliable car on reasonable terms .”

They work with a variety of groups to improve public policy, data collection, and advocacy for NGOs that help low-income families with transportation.

They provide a database where you can search for local programs that may provide you with a free or low-cost car.

You will need to read the requirements for each program to see if you are eligible and how the application process works

This organization gives free cars to single mothers. The same people who run Cars4Heroes run Cars4Christmas, except they provide free, basic transportation to everyone instead of just military veterans and first responders.

Illness, death, tragedy, disability, and even natural calamities have turned people’s lives upside down.

Each year, they receive more than 20,000 applications and deliver approximately 20 cars depending on contributions. Even if your chances of receiving a car through this pool are slim, you should still apply.

You may meet a private donor who is interested in your story, or connect with another group that may be able to help you with a specific need.
