Wake Christmas Gift Giving Program Registration Opens

Despite COVID-19, the plans of the Salvation Army of Wake County continue to deliver gifts and clothes this Christmas to children up to 12 years old, from low-income families.

This is how the registration process for the annual Christmas Cheer Program will remain active until October 2.

“Each year, thousands of families in Wake County are unable to provide Christmas gifts for their children. These parents work hard and find ways to make ends meet, but the Christmas presents under the tree are financially out of reach for them,” the Salvation Army said, recalling that last year nearly 8,000 children benefited.

Families residing in Wake County can enroll using the following link: https://saangeltree.org/ and meet the following requirements:

  • Show a photo ID. The person must be the parent or have proof that he or she is the legal guardian of the children.
  • Provide proof of current Wake County address, if different from photo ID.
  • Provide sources of income for everyone in the household.
  • Proof that you are the parent or legal guardian of each child you are registering. The documents must have the name of the adult and each child they are registering. (birth certificate, immunization record, or school record). The document must also have the child’s “date of birth”.

In addition, people should know the clothing and shoe size of each child. Minors must be 12 years old or younger.  

For those who do not have internet access or have difficulty completing the online application, they have the option of calling (919) 834-6733 Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm. to 4:00 pm Wait times can be long.
